Cliff Scores 123rd Hit Single
Sir Cliff Richard has continued his record-breaking run of hit singles on the UK charts with his latest offering, Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World, entering the UK charts at No.11 with sales of over 21,000 copies.
Somewhere Over The Rainbow is Cliff's 123rd hit single, and his 91st to reach the top twenty. In its second week the single fell to
No.18, still higher than new entries from acts such as Michael Jackson and Emma Bunton.
This feat is made even more impressive when it is taken into account that the single did not make the UK top 200 airplay charts.
Cliff's new album Wanted fell from No.35 to No.42 in its fifth week, and is currently sitting at
No.45 in its sixth week. Sales have actually increased over the past few weeks as the marketplace gears up for the Christmas
rush and sales are now at close to 150,000 copies.

Exact sales figures are not yet in for the entire week, but up to the end of Wednesday sales of Wanted were up to 13,950 which means that this first week tally should be well ahead of that of his last album
Real As I Wanna Be which entered at No.10 and sold 12,500 in its first week.
Steps topped the charts this week with Britney Spears' new album Britney
entering at No.4, while other new entries included Pink Floyd's new compilation album
Echoes at No.2, Sting's All
This Time at No.3, The Best of The Corrs at No.6 and Natalie Imbruglia's album White Lilies Island at
No.15 and an All Saints greatest hits album All Hits at No.18. Meanwhile,

WANTED Heading For Top Ten
Midweek sales figures are showing that Wanted is heading for a top ten placing in one of the most competitive weeks of the
year so far.
Sales for Sunday-Tuesday placed Cliff at No.9 on the UK album charts, with sales of
11,459 over Monday and Tuesday. Albums released prior to this week had an extra day of sales, but on a per day sales basis Cliff is currently coming fourth.
At this stage Cliff's chart position has the potential to either rise or fall, but he is looking a strong contender for a top ten placing. His last studio album,
Real As I Wanna Be, entered at No.10 with sales of 12,500.

Cliff's Odds Improving For Christmas No.1
With the announcement that Bob The Builder won't be releasing a single this Christmas, the odds of Cliff's single
Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World being this year's Christmas No.1 have been slashed from 33/1 to 10/1 by bookmakers.
A William Hill spokesman says they're taking no chances on the wily old crooner.
'Having been hit in the pocket twice before with Cliff taking the Christmas
number one, we are always on the alert and take his bid very seriously.'
So now the horns are locked: Cliff must take on the favourite, Kate Winslet, and the might of the other contenders, who include
Atomic Kitten, Westlife, and, perhaps most threatening of all, Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman.

Cliff Fan Who Stole £50,000 Goes Free
A woman who stole £50,000 from a monkey sanctuary to fund her
obsession with Cliff Richard and Daniel O'Donnell escaped a jail sentence
yesterday.
Cashier Sara-Jane Samways, 41, went to scores of gigs around
the country, bought loads of souvenirs of her heart-throbs and stayed at plush
hotels.
She worked on the gate at Monkey World in Wool, Dorset, where
she was a trusted employee until she was caught out by CCTV.
She admitted stealing £47,750 when she appeared at
Bournemouth Crown Court.
Police found piles of pop souvenirs in her home.
But she was freed by a judge yesterday after being given a
15-month suspended sentence.
The court heard that unmarried Samways' only pleasures in
life were Sir Cliff, 60, and O'Donnell, and the rest of her time was spent
working and taking care of her invalid mother.
Christopher Jervis, prosecuting, said Samways started working
at the park in 1987.
He said: "It is a charitable organisation dedicated to the
protection of primates in the park and around the world.
"A large proportion of its profits is spent on the welfare of
creatures.
Judge Samuel Wiggs told Samways: "Your doctor says you cannot
understand why you did it and there are no clues as to your motives."
He ordered her to pay back £48,930 to Monkey World.

The Most WANTED Album Of The Year Is Almost Here
On Monday November 5th Cliff will release the most Wanted album of the year, and his first new album in three years.
The album features mainly covers of various songs that Cliff has always wanted to record such as
You've Got A Friend, All Shook Up, What's Love Got To Do With It and
Moon River as well as his upcoming single Somewhere Over The Rainbow/Wonderful
World.
Papillon Records have uploaded a 60 second stream of the upcoming single on their website and they will be uploading a stream of the song's video clip later in the week.
Television advertising will also begin on the 4th (you can view a complete list
of shows during which Wanted will be advertised here).
To ring in the new release, Cliff took to the airwaves recording interviews for BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Wiltshire Sound and Capital Gold who had an entire Cliff Richard Day on November 1st. Cliff also appeared on television programs
GMTV, Esther, Rich & Famous and The Frank Skinner Show in the few days leading up to the November 5th release.
As a lot of Cliff fans are anxious to know how they can get this album as high as possible in the charts, I have put up a new section on the
Wanted page which gives some details of where to buy it and media outlets to contact.
